How To Convince An Addict To Get Help by Stan Popovich

here are many reasons why people who use drugs and alcohol do not get the help they need to overcome their addictions and other issues.

Some family members who see the people they love struggle may have a difficult time in getting them assistance.

As a result, here are seven suggestions on how to convince a person struggling with drugs and alcohol to get help.

1. A family intervention could work: The most popular way to get someone the help they need is to do a family intervention. This is when family members and an interventionist get together with the person to tell them how much they love them and that they need to get some assistance.  The person whose having a hard time listens and hopefully they become convinced to get the treatment they need.

Only the Landscape Knows #poem by Emmanuel Sigauke

“Let me whisper to the bush, guardian of my home
let me proclaim the message of arrival
in this time of war
let me not leave any stone unturned
let me whisper to the bush
let me say:”

A Review Of Techniques In Managing Your Depression by Stan Popovich

Some people have a difficult time in managing their depression which can make things very challenging.

When you are in this situation, it is important to know what to do so that your mental health issues do not overwhelm you.

As a result, here are seven ways that a person can use to help conquer their depression in their life.

1. Learn how to manage your thoughts: One of the ways to overcome your depression is to challenge your negative thinking with positive statements and realistic thinking. When encountering thoughts that make you fearful, challenge those thoughts by asking yourself questions that will maintain objectivity and common sense. Your fearful thoughts are usually not based on reality.

2. Take a break: Some people get depressed and have a difficult time getting through the day. When this happens, a person should take a deep breath and try to find something to do to get their mind off of the problem. A person could take a walk, listen to some music, read the newspaper, or do an activity that will give them a fresh perspective on things.

Ambiguities Of Continuity #poem by Jan Sand

“Survival, one is persuaded to surmise,
Is,  generally, no great surprise.
Whatever tosses asteroids at our blue-green dot
Has a careless aim and there are certainties
In the works persuaded more in dependable dynamics
For crashing cataclysms to leave asteroids to witticisms.”

Omicron and the Travel Ban Itch by Dr. Binoy Kampmark

Stick to the script: owe that duty of care to your population, so the legal experts in government tell you. Self-interest pays, if in small amounts. These rigid, formulaic assumptions have done wonders to harm and deter any spirit of cooperation regarding dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.

History’s record of humanity’s response to plagues, pandemics and disease is one of isolation, marginalisation, and exclusion. The infected shall be kept away and sealed off from the healthy and wealthy. This, inevitably, results in partiality, prejudice and distinctions. Omicron, having been pumped with the prestige of a potential COVID super variant, has given dozens of countries grounds to stop travel, halt movement and stem flights. As always, these measures have been applied unevenly and hypocritically.

Health advice from someone who’s not a doctor by Joseph Gatt

I have no other qualifications than having read a few books on health and healthy living. So here are my observations (in no particular order).

healif0001_400

-Watch out for health gurus. To me, health is kind of like religion. Those good Christians tend to discuss faith very little. They let God watch over them. Those Christians leading double lives full of sin, well, they’re the ones who discuss religion at length. Same goes for Jews and Muslims and name any religion.

So health kind of works the same. You have those who practice healthy living habits but rarely discuss them. Then you have those who secretly snort cocaine or binge on joints or have some filthy habit, yet all they ever talk about is how nasty eating meat is or how bad hormones are for your health. That’s because cocaine wrecks your appetite, so lots of vegans use veganism as a front for their bad habits. Not all of them, but a lot of them do.

Toxic fears for Senegal recyclers

Senegal urgently needs to decontaminate areas in and by the capital, Dakar, where hundreds of people have been exposed to lead poisoning, the UN says.

The warning followed a World Health Organization investigation into the deaths of a number of children in an area where lead batteries are recycled. It found very high concentrations of the toxic metal both outside and inside homes in Thiaroye Sur Mer town.

The WHO said many children showed evidence of neurological damage. The health officials say those affected break apart car batteries to resell the lead. About 950 people living in the Dakar district of NGagne Diaw were continuously exposed through ingestion and inhalation of lead-contaminated dust, the WHO said.

What comment can you do when they poison earth?

International day of tuberculosis

World Tuberculosis Day is designed to build public awareness about the disease. It commemorates the day in 1882 when Dr. Robert Koch announced he had discovered the cause of tuberculosis. His discovery opened the way toward diagnosing and curing tuberculosis.

Tuberculosis (TB) kills about two million people each year, making it one of the world’s leading infectious causes of death among young people and adults. One-third of the world’s population is infected with TB.
