Reformers claim victory in Serbia

Serbian President Boris Tadic has claimed victory in the general election with early results suggesting a big lead for his pro-Western alliance.

Mr. Tadic said Serbs had chosen the path of integration with Europe but he vowed his new government would not recognize Kosovo as an independent state. Despite its lead, his bloc will have to seek a coalition with other parties. Its ultra-nationalist rivals say they could still muster enough support for a nationalist coalition against him.

Let’s hope that the rest of the world will see that and saying world we mean the American administration!!!

Kosovo’s Serbs

The big question was from the beginning how the Kosovo Serbs will react to Kosovo’s independence and furthermore how the rulers Kosovo Albanians will react to Kosovo Serbians reactions. And it is natural for the Serbs to react to what illegally the Albanians did and it is natural to demand their return to Serbia.

Unfortunately once more this American administration helped from UK and the usual suspects saw the tree and missed the forest ignoring for the high coast in the area. An area that has suffered for centuries and obviously will continue suffering, in the past were the Turks now will be the Albanians who terrorise of course with a little help from the …Turks who as usual work from the dark corners of history and hypocrisy

The Serbian government calls for elections

The Serbian government has urged President Boris Tadic to dissolve parliament and hold an early election. The call follows the collapse of Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica's governing coalition at the weekend. Ministers failed to agree on whether to suspend ties with the European Union, in protest at recognition of Kosovan independence by some EU members. Mr. Tadic, whose party is pushing for EU membership, has indicated he will grant the request for a snap election.

The EU's Slovenian presidency said on Monday that it hoped pro-EU parties would win the coming election.

Slovenian Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel, whose country holds the rotating EU presidency, said: "I don't think there is any other possibility for our Serbian friends than the European Union." Most EU countries recognized Kosovo after its unilateral declaration of independence on 17 February. Serbia - and its ally Russia - says they will never accept it.

But there is another major question, is the next prime minister going to help Serbia or he/she going to give another excuse for the enemies of Serbia in Europe and USA? And the biggest question on the issue, for how long Serbia is going to pay that US failed to punish Milosevic the way they wanted to? And cannot understand that by punishing Serbia they are punishing the whole Balkans?

Olli Rehn and Serbia

Serbia's Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica rejected the treaty in early February, because he felt that the EU was trying to use it to buy Serbian approval for the independence of Kosovo. Rehn says that the offer remains in force, and he hopes that the matter could move forward in the coming weeks.

He added that negotiations on the treaty were completed already last year. Now at stake is when the political preconditions for signing the treaty are met.

Why the surprise? Didn’t Europeans use Serbia as a scapegoat for all the mistakes they have done in Yugoslavia the last fifteen years and in Balkans the last fifty years if not hundred? Who’s really responsible and how we are going to find out? Didn’t the Germans push Slovenia in independence and EU hurried to recognize the new country without thinking the future of the Yugoslav confederation? Aren’t they doing the same mistake with FYROM and Kosovo? Or is Mr. Rehn unable to understand this kind of politics?
