Racism has so many faces by Amir Khatib
After living for 33 years in Finland, I cannot say that I am the only one who has been subjected to racism more than once in this country. Nor can I say that this is the first time I have been subjected to racism in another country.
After all it has become clear and obvious to everyone that racism is practiced against everyone with black hair or black skin, in more than one situation, not to mention the disguised and traditional racism that most foreigners in this country suffer from.
Saying traditional I mean like the one you deal with when you submit an application for a job or to rent an apartment or for any other everyday excuse. You have studied and obtained a master’s degree or even a doctorate and you apply to join as a guest a course in the same expertise, well… they will not even bother to invite you to a traditional interview due to your …name or anything in your introduction letter that might indicate that you are a foreigner. You just know in advance that you will be rejected.
