Britt tried to keep a certain understating when she heard Mr Olsson’s story and practice some carefully put empathy when Mr Olsson himself repeated the story in her sitting room with coffee and a chocolate muffin in hand.
To my surprise and ignorance, Mr Olsson and Britt had built a friendship based n mutual admiration that occasionally had included coffee and muffins but not me. So imagine my astonishment when I found him at Britt’s sitting room drinking coffee just a couple days after the incident.
The poor man, as Britt later explained to me, had come to ask a big neighbourly favour. To use her bathtub for a couple of times until he can move over the incident. Britt not sure about the reality of the whole thing but feeling sorry for the poor man accepted volunteering her shower gel, even a bath tower which Mr Olsson accepted with humbling dignity and obvious relief.
